Discover the Thrills: 2024 Porsche 718 Boxster
Power for a Thrilling Drive
Similar to its coupe twin, the 718 Cayman, the entry-level Boxster packs a 2.0L turbocharged flat-four that produces 300 hp and 280 lb-ft of torque. The engine has a nearly flat torque curve, reaching its peak at 1,950 rpm and facilitating a satisfying throttle response. On a drag strip, this translates to a 0 to 60 mph time of just 4.9 seconds.
Other engine options include a 2.5L turbocharged flat-four on the S trim level, a 4.0L flat-six on the GTS, and a more capable 4.0L flat-six on the track-ready Spyder RS. The fully loaded 718 Boxster Spyder RS produces 493 hp and 331 lb-ft of torque, rocketing from 0 to 60 mph in just 3.2 seconds and crossing the quarter-mile mark in 11.8 seconds at a top speed of 119 mph.
Designed to Handle Like a Dream
The precision-engineered chassis and the mid-engine layout give the Boxster nearly 50:50 weight distribution for dreamlike handling. The roadster is also equipped with technologies that improve its stability and grip, such as Porsche Stability Management, which adapts the car’s response to different road surfaces. Additionally, Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM) changes damping forces while cornering to keep all four wheels planted on the road.
Style to Stun the Crowd
The 718 Boxster is undeniably a Porsche with its classic curves and a modernized version of the popular “fried egg” headlights. The roadster features stylish side air intakes and a classic Porsche grille to cool its powerful engine. The base model rides on elegant 18-inch wheels, but you can swap them for wheels found on any other model, including the 20-inch ones on the Carrera Sport or 911 Turbo.
If you want a splash of the automaker’s new Ruby Star Neo paint, you can opt for the Style Edition trim, which debuted with the 2024 Boxster lineup. The Style Edition spices up the roadster’s appearance with charming hood and door graphics and unique 20-inch wheels. With the convertible top down, you can flaunt the illuminated door sill plates, Porsche logos on the headrests, and chalk-colored stitching on the new floor mats.
